While it's nice to dance in bars and clubs where quality sound surrounds you. The lighting makes a good atmosphere, people having fun and paying moderate attention at you. This state makes you want to groove.
But something about outside session makes you feel good in a distinctive way. Bboy Focus from Finland has wrote an article about having great sessions at a dingy club, spots that are obviously "incomplete" as a "dance spot" for bboys. But the incompleteness is what makes a session satisfying sometimes. The floor may be cracked and sticky, no one can really dance in the way they usually do, and that, makes the session thrilling and raw.
A concrete session is similar in a way, shit is unpredictable. Depending on the weather, people around you, how the music sounds and even the colours of the place can determine your state of mind. You notice little details which make up the whole vibe: the surface of concrete heated by the sunlight, the sound when you slide on a rough surface, the city lights if it's night, and the fresh air you get on the face. The moment you realise how pleasant these little things are, a concrete session seems more enjoyable than it ever was.
